I've never heard (of) this. What's the scoop?
EDIT: I just started streaming this and it sounds wicked.

I've been so focused on filling in the vintage gaps and awaiting new LPs from Kamasi Washington, Kamaal Williams, et al that I slept on this thing. Thanks for the course correction, lads.

@Millie, spill the beans. I'm more like Mateo with a focus on the mature ladies. Interest piqued.

Why spend the $$ on the MoFi and have to flip the record three times when this 2013 mono reissue sounds so damn good.

These are such great records, Tex. I've held off on pulling the trigger because they were awfully pricey, but it's nice to hear they are solid pressings.

If you’re thinking about getting one or both I wouldn’t wait. Sold out at the label. I got them from Forced Exposure for 36 each. They show both as “low stock” which sometimes means they’re already out of stock. Couple other sites show as sold out as well. Not the cheapest but not bad for stoughton jacket, half speed cut from original tapes and hq pressing.

I understand. I've been monitoring the situation(s) since their drop. I'm not insinuating they are overpriced; just expensive.

New Jonny Trunk 7"

from jonny:

from jonny:
there is a new limited Trunk 7" single in town. Called KK / MM the A side features a very rare and exotically beautiful Karin Krog song called "A Quiet Place" that she made with Don Ellis back in 1969. The AA Side is Mark Murphy, and his sublime version of "Both Sides Now" that only appeared on his UK jazz LP that no one ever sees or hears. So killer A / AA sides and a pretty cunning combination (KK / MM) even if I say so myself.

I got excited when I found the Jon Hassell LP Power Spot a week ago. RL find of the year for me. This album is a part of the Brian Eno ambient series called fourth world. Hassell puts it - Coffee colored classical. Doesn't sound like anything else.
Other one is a good Madlib jazz LP from the 2000's.

Steve, that is awesome! I have never seen an original ECM Power Spot in the wild before. I was also unaware that Power Spot was part of the Fourth World Musics series. Great get, man.

@Steve - I'm not. Can't speak for the others here. They seem to dig it. Freakin' lizards.

finally had some time to sort these on the shelf. these are my jazzy jazz acquisitions from the past (+/-)12 months. (have skipped the very recent stuff, like the new Ill Considered or James Creole Thomas for the picture.)
